Holland America Line, Rotterdam, Caribbean Cruise. 15th & 16th February 2023. Miami, Half Moon Cay.

This morning we were back in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale. For us this was the start of our second cruise as we were not getting off and staying in the same cabin.

I booked a ships tour called Miami City Highlights. 

This is what the tour is described as ;

Cross the McArthur Causeway with a view of the cruise terminal, as your guide points out homes of the rich and famous along the route.

Don't miss the South Beach Art Deco district -- an iconic Miami landmark -- and a stop for photos at the Versace Mansion. Your guide points out many details that lend the South Beach area its singular character.

Watch for the Wynwood Walls -- a vast array of one-of-a-kind street art.

No trip to Miami is complete without a stop in Little Havana, with its rich Cuban vibe, food and music. You'll have time on your own here to purchase a snack (at your own expense) or browse in the stores. Yes, Cuban cigars are sold here!

Well! This tour is NOT as described, and it was a massive disappointment and not recommended. 

We crawled through traffic, it took ages to get to the first stop. South Beach for 15 minutes. 

Then went to little Havana.

Then to Miami airport and to Fort Lauderdale airport, to drop people off! that wasn't in the description. It was a waste of time and money. 

Back on the ship, this time we left on time at 15.00 and there was a full sail away party with games and prizes. it was very different from the first sail away. It was good to leave Port Everglades in day light sailing once again to Half Moon Cay.

16th February 2023.

Tendering ashore same as before, this time we walked around as much of the Island as you can, going to the Plantation ruins before enjoying lunch.

A Carnival ship joined us today, but there were still plenty of sun beds and space on the long beach. 

For dinner tonight we were going to The Pinnacle Grill, steak and seafood restaurant. 

We were greeted and seated very quickly, I ordered the signature dish, cadies clothesline bacon. When it came it was tasteless, not worth all the hype. I had the lamb chops and my partner had a steak. Neither of us were impressed with the food, it was tasteless. I don't know why people rave on about this restaurant the Main Dining Room and Lido are better. 

The new band was playing in the BB Kings tonight, they had not been together long and were nervous but really good, we enjoyed them.
