14th February 2023. Half Moon Cay. Bahamas.
Half Moon Cay is HALs private Island in the Bahamas. There is not a cruise dock so you have to get the Tender. Unlike Celebrity HAL did not use the life boats as tenders, but sent large vessels from the Island.

Arrival was 08.00 and last tender 14.30.We walked along the beach and found a shady spot under the trees, and settled down to read our books.
The Island is pristine, the water clean, but snorkelling off the beach is none existent, the coral is destroyed. Some of the cabanas looked a bit shabby, and there were only a few.

An Island BBQ lunch was provided from 11.00 to 13.00. It was a fantastic display of food, meats, salads, breads, fruit, ice cream, cakes, soft drinks were also provided. I though it was outstanding, and far better than I was expecting. The crew work so hard bringing everything from the ship.

I enjoyed the island and looked forward to our next visit on February the 16th. Back on the ship, despite it being Valentines day, the ship was not decorated, just a nice cake in the Lido Buffet.
We ate in the buffet tonight as we had decided to go to watch the film; Ticket to Paradise by the pool. One of HALs 'Movies by the Pool Nights'. Popcorn is served and the New York Dali serves film night snacks, like chicken wings and nachos. Its a nice idea.
