Indonesia Adventure 2024. 

Manchester to London Heathrow Terminal 4. 

28 th May 2024. Holiday time at last, it seems to have been a long time since the last one, Probably as it was a winter one in Transylvania. 

Today we got the train to Manchester Airport where we had a meal in the Collage restaurant in the airport Radisson Blu Hotel. I had a decent burger and chips whilst my partner had soup of the day- Broccoli, then Salmon with green beans and potatoes. Both we OK meals but not as good as the Italian restaurant San Carlo in terminal 2. We were departing from terminal 3 so this was not an option 🙃 . 

BA 1407. Manchester to Heathrow

We were flying to Kuala Lumpur late the next day with KLM, but due to many negative experiences with BA connecting flights from Manchester I have started to mitigate by giving myself plenty of connection time- in this case 24 hours!!

Using my AVIOS points, I had Booked a BA flight to Heathrow; BA 1407 due to depart at 20.10. I had checked in on line so went to the bag drop. One person was working on the check in counters so it was a 15 to 20 minute wait. 

At the counter we were informed the flight was an hour late and if this would impact on any onward journey, to go to customer service. As mitigated against :)) our onward journey is not with BA, and is tomorrow- all we had to do is wait. 

Terminal three was very busy and crowded but we managed to fine a quiet spot to wait and watch the aircraft movements. Our flight continued to be delayed, the actual departure time ended up as 21.44. 

The aircraft looked new and was an A320 Neon and was almost empty. The crew and service were good, and it didn’t take long to get to Heathrow, where we were in the holding pattern for ages. 

Once inside Terminal Five the bags arrived very quickly and we got the bus to terminal four.

To get to the terminal four hotels you have to go to the second floor in the terminal and walk along a walkway. It is a good facility but very poorly signposted. 

The Premier Inn was clean and very comfortable, check in fast with good staff. We had a very good nights sleep.
