Rugby World Cup 2023, France. Nice for the England v Japan game. 15th to 18th September.

Having relaxed in Spain, it was an early start on Friday 15th September back to Nice for the next rugby game.

We were booked in at the Hotel So'Co by Happy Culture in Nice.

It wasn't a bad journey, and we avoided most of the traffic around Cannes. We parked at the station, this was very convenient as the hotel was opposite the station. The hotel rooms were very small, but had a massive bathroom with a bath! The decor was also odd, just wooden planks and black metal! But the bed was OK.

The Wardrobe

A desk!
The area that the hotel was in was also a bit dodgy, at night it seemed to be frequented by a lot of ladies of the night and homeless people sleeping in doorways. We didn't have any problems, but it was not the best. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

On the Saturday we spent the day exploring Nice, it was OK but I don't think I would rush back as there was not a lot to see and it was quite scruffy in places, with many homeless people.

From a rugby point of view Nice was a success, the fan zone was very good and we were able to watch the Wales v Portugal match in the amphitheatre, with food, beer and fireworks.

Sunday was match day, England V Japan, and again Nice had the best rugby related activities at the stadium, lots of photo opportunities, bands playing, free stuff and a party atmosphere. despite a massive police presence. So going to Nice for the rugby was a success, but there are better places in Europe to see and explore.
