Celebrity Eclipse. 14 Night Argentina Cruise. 10th March 2020. Punta Arenas

To go ashore in Punta Arenas a tender is needed. On Celebrity Cruises; if you are not taking an excursion organised by the ship, you have to que to get your ticket for the tender.  so we were up early and we were allocated onto the second tender.

The weather was perfect, clear and sunny.

I had organised a trip with Kayak Agua Fresca, not to Kayak but to go on a Whale watching tour in the Strat of Magellan. I had done this via email, and was told to pay in cash at the end of the day - this could be in US $ or local currency.

We were due to meet at the green clock at  09.30. But the ship was a bit late into port and we managed to be ashore by 10.00 and were met by Israel who was waiting for us.

We were driven in a mini bus to a Farm where breakfast was served and we met the rest of the team. it was a short drive to the shore line and the road end at Cape Forward.

We were provided wet weather gear, overshoes, drybags and lifejackets.
The Zodiacs took us to the beach below the San Isidor Lighthouse, we walked up to the lighthouse and enjoyed the perfect weather. then back in the inflatable we saw Sea Lions, Penguins and Whales.

Once the tour was finished and we were back on land, were were served drinks and snacks. then we were driven back to the ship, arriving at 17.30, just in time to get the last tender back to the ship. It had been a wonderful day.
