Celebrity Eclipse, 14 Night Argentina Cruise, Sea Day. 5th March 2020.

5th March 2020. At Sea.

This was our first 'rest' day since we had set off from Manchester on 25th Feb.
We were sailing in the South Atlantic Ocean from Punta del Este, Uruguay  to Puerto Madryn, Argentina.
By now I had discovered the delights of the Cafe Al Bacio on deck 5. I don't really drink Coffee, but the Tea served by the delightful staff was lovely, I was enjoying sitting on the balcony drinking my Tea, whilst my husband used the gym. - When looking at this cruise, I had chosen this ship as it seemed to have the best gym facilities of the ships doing the route. This cruise had 6 sea days, and it was only the fact that this ship had a good gym that my husband agreed to the cruise.

The Celebrity Eclipse was due to go into dry dock and be refurbished in a few weeks, but the ship did not look like this was needed, it still looked good.
The ships passenger capacity is 2852 people. I don't know how many are on board, but it is was not at capacity and did not feel crowded. The passengers were mainly from the USA and Canada, then a few Mexicans, British, Australian and South African. A lot of the passengers have done a 'Back to Back' cruise from Brazil and plan to stay on traveling to Vancouver, Canada, whilst we will be  getting off in Chile.
There were a lot of activities on during the day at sea, including an energetic dancercise class to Latin/ Argentine music at the pool. Then Latin dance lessons, I think today was The Tango, lectures in the theatre and quizzes in the Sky lounge. I sat by the indoor pool reading my book and did the quizzes in the afternoon.
In the evening we went to a show but didn't think much of it, it was a guest entertainer who talked a lot about him self and shows he had performed in. Then there was dancing in the sky lounge with D.J Miguel- who despite not having any Northern Sole music - was still great 😁

Sea View ? on Celebrity Eclipse- this is not on the 5th March, but the day before

The sea was very choppy, with large swells, but you couldn't feel any movement on the ship, and that's good as I am not a very good sailor.
Covid 19 = as we had been so busy up to this sea day we had not kept up to date with the Covid 19 situation. The outbreak was the main topic on all the ships news channels and it was reported that there had been over 90,000 cases worldwide and 3,012 deaths reported by mainland China.
Donald Trump is on ABC and Fox News saying that Covid is just like the flu and will be over by Easter. We don't think we believe him! and he didn't say which Easter.
